Literature search

For each peptide we search PubMed using the name and known aliases in titles and abstracts via the NCBI E-utilities. Results are categorized by publication type and by MeSH terms for humans and animals. Limitations: alias coverage may be incomplete; relevance ranking is automated; some studies lack abstracts or indexing. Abstracts are used for internal review only and are not reproduced on this site.

Clinical trials

We query ClinicalTrials.gov (API v2) by intervention name and aliases and refresh weekly. Limitations: registry records may be incomplete or delayed; name variants and sponsor codes can be missed; results posting varies; a name match does not mean the peptide was studied alone.

Regulatory status

Entries are compiled manually from official sources and show the retrieval date. Status categories: approved, approved for other indications, not approved, compounding category (U.S. FDA bulk drug substance lists, where applicable), prohibited in sport, not listed, unclear. "Not approved" describes the absence of marketing authorization and is not a statement about the legality of possession or research use. A cell with no verified source is shown as "No data".

Evidence levels

  • human-rct: at least one published randomized controlled trial in humans
  • human-observational: human data from non-randomized or uncontrolled studies
  • animal: animal studies only
  • in-vitro: cell or biochemical studies only
  • none: no published studies identified

The overall level of an entry is the highest level identified. Each row of an evidence table is graded separately so that a single trial does not stand in for the whole body of evidence.

Publication thresholds

  • Entry pages: at least 5 verified sources, an evidence table, at least 600 words of substantive content, and a quality score of at least 16/20.
  • Legal-status pages: official sources for at least 3 jurisdictions, retrieved within the last 12 months.
  • Clinical-trial pages: at least 3 registered studies.
  • Comparison pages: both entries published and at least 8 comparison dimensions with data.

Pages below these thresholds may be visible but are excluded from search-engine indexing and the sitemap.

Calculators

Formulas and assumptions are shown on each tool page.
